Stephen Thomas Yelverton, 70, Washington, D.C., died Friday, April 21, 2017.
Funeral Sunday 2 p.m. Fremont United Methodist Church with interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
The visitation will follow at the church Fellowship Hall.
He was born in Wilson April 10, 1947, to the late John Thomas and Lyda Musgrave Yelverton.
Steve graduated from Fremont High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina Law School.
He was a practicing attorney in Washington, D.C., for many years.
Surviving are sisters, Deborah Y. Marm (Joe) and Phyllis Y. Edmundson of Fremont, and their families.
He is also survived by a dear friend, Gayle Christie, of Houston, Texas.
