Velma Lee Ford Smith, 79, 106 Piedmont Place, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, with pastor Edmond Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Fremont Cemetery.
She was born April 13, 1937, in Wayne County to Roy and Anna Fisher Ford.
She is survived by her children.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
