JOHN R. DOUD SR.

John Robert Doud Sr., 76, Goldsboro, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center.
John was born in Waverly, Pa., on Oct. 22, 1940 to the late Lucien Howard Doud and Genevieve Limerick Doud.
He owned and operated Better Built Construction Company in Goldsboro. John was a member of the Goldsboro Lions Club and the Goldsboro Rotary Club. He will be remembered for his love of photography.
A service celebrating John's life will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, with Pastor Colby Leonard officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
John is survived by his sweetheart, Rosemary Carusone; children, Cheryl Lannie, Lynda Battiste, John Robert Doud Jr., and Eric Matthew Doud; stepchildren, Pattie Fisher, Daniel Clemens, and Thomas Clemens; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce Doud and Jim Doud; and sisters, Nancy Schullery and Jean McLellan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristen Marie Doud.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834 or to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2802 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
