EVADEANE I. JONES

Evadeane Ingram Jones, resident of the Smith Chapel/Thunder Swamp area near Mount Olive, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017.
She was 84 years old.
Her family will receive friends at Tyndall’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 24, beginning at 1 p.m., with funeral services to commence at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Bobby Smith. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Jones was a home economics teacher at Grantham School and then at Southern Wayne High School from which she retired. She had been very active in the Wayne County 4-H program, had been a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church for many years, and had directed countless weddings for family and friends in the community.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha J. and Billy Stovall of Clayton; a grandson, Jonathan Leslie Stovall of Clayton; a brother, Milton Ingram, his wife, Sandra, and their daughters, Amy and Jennifer, all of Princeton; her caregiver and friend of the family, Joy Lancaster of Mount Olive; and the families of the “Jones Brothers.”
Her husband, J. L. Jones Jr. preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2016, and her parents, Gurney and Mildred Davis Ingram are also deceased.
