Mrs. LaRue Stallings Lancaster, 84, Vanceboro, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016.
A funeral service was conducted Saturday at 6 p.m. in Vanceboro Free Will Holiness Church, with a visitation following the service. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Joyner-Wiggins Cemetery in Vanceboro.
LaRue was an Avon representative for 32 years, and loved baking for her church at the bake sales.
Mrs. Lancaster was a member of Vanceboro Free Will Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rossie James and Eulala Sipes Stallings; her husband, Fred Lancaster; four brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her sons, Marshall Dean Lancaster and Melvin Keith Lancaster both of Vanceboro; grandsons, James Derek Lancaster and wife, Ashleigh, of Snow Hill and Kevin Allen Lancaster of Vanceboro; brother, Nathan Stallings and wife, Joyce, of Goldsboro; and the family dog, Daisy.
