Johny Robert Watson, 17, Dudley, passed away Thursday at Vidant Medical Center.
He was born in Sevierville, Tenn., to J.R. and Melissa Watson.
Johny was a recent graduate of Spring Creek High School, and was currently attending Lenoir Community College.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 18, at Brogden United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Stephanie Foretich-McKey and deacon Steve May officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other times, at the residence of his grandparents, George and Franyke Watson.
In addition to his parents, Johny is survived by a brother, Dalton Watson; paternal grandparents, Glenda and Steve May and George and Frankye Watson; aunt, Mary Mayoza; great-grandmother, Jean May; girlfriend, Madison Mooring; best friend, Dominic Rybolt; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn., 38148-0142.
The family wishes to thank the members of the Goldsboro Police Department and the Wayne County EMS, as well as the staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital and Vidant Medical Center, for their services during this difficult time.
