Ms. Odessa Bryant Gallimore, 88, formerly of N.C. 109 South, Denton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Mountain Vista Health Park.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Blount and the Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating. Burial will follow at Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Gallimore was born in Davidson County Aug. 23, 1928.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active with the United Methodist Women.
She had worked as town clerk of Denton for many years, and later retired from Davidson County Health Department.
Odessa was preceded in death by her husband, Hyatt Gallimore.
Surviving are son, Terry H. Gallimore of Goldsboro; daughters, Karen Argo and husband, Tony, of Fayetteville and Lanette Tysinger and husband, John, of Denton; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of her daughter, Lanette Tysinger on East N.C. 47, Denton.
