Mother Essie Lillie Melton, 95, Brockton, Mass., formerly of Goldsboro, died Thursday at home.
Funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Delight United Holy Church. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Wayne County to Leonard and Mary Best Bowden.
She is survived by nine children.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 308 Bunche Drive, where it will assemble for the funeral procession.
