Helen Rae "Pete" Creel Bennett, 77, died Tuesday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Aldon Creel and Pauline Creel Price, and was the wife of Bobby Bennett of Autryville, N.C.
A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bennett is survived by a sister, Joyce Creel Russell and her husband, Gene, of Morehead City, N.C.; five nieces and nephews, Denise Avery, Charlene Pennuell, Carolyn Blackmon, Lisa Creel Holcomb and Bruce Hopewell; several great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Creel.
