Lillie Bell Brothers Arnold, 96, Goldsboro, a resident of Countryside Village, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Arnold was born in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Feb. 22, 1920, one of seven children, to the late John William Brothers and Lily Fox Brothers. She was married to the late Carl Arnold.
Mrs. Arnold had retired from Sullivan's Department Store in Murfreesboro, Tenn., after 40 years of service.
She will be remembered as a longtime member of the Baptist denomination and for her great love of quilting and gardening.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating her life at 7 p.m. in the chapel, with Dr. Penny Ziemmer officiating. Interment will be Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her daughter, Linda Burroughs, and grandson, Ralph Holden Burroughs Jr.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ralph Holden Burroughs Sr.
Special thanks are given to her wonderful neighbors and friends, who cared for her and her family in so many kind and thoughtful ways through the years and during this time of loss, especially Connie Crawford and Anne Farmer.
