Doris Carroll Kirby, 69, 432 SW Center St., Faison, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, in Faison Cemetery, with the Rev. Jabe Largen officiating.
Doris, born in 1946 in Wayne County, was the daughter of the late James Clarence Cottle and Elva Doris Cottle.
She worked in the banking industry, and was a member of Faison United Methodist Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Kirby.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include son, Scott D. Lane of Winston-Salem; sister, Laura Walter and husband, Mike, of Raleigh; granddaughter, Miranda Lane of Faison; and nephew, John Walter of Raleigh.
The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faison United Methodist Church, 404 S.W. Center S., Faison, N.C., 28341.
