MARY DANIEL COTTON HINSON

Mary Daniel Cotton Hinson, 89, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016.
Ms. Hinson was born in Sampson County Aug. 30, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Stanford Daniel and Annie Mae McCullen Daniel.
Mary was the owner and operator of Mary's Drive-In in Goldsboro, N.C., for 30 years.
The love of Mary's life was her family and friends, special nieces and nephews and her best friend, Margaret Deans.
Services for Ms. Hinson will be held Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at 4 p.m. in West and Dunn Funeral Home chapel in Newton Grove. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Allison Lancaster. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at the funeral home. The family will also be receiving friends at all other times at the home of Ms. Mary at 1512 E. Maple St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
Mary is survived by a son, Walter Rufus Cotton of Newton Grove; stepdaughter, Kay Chestnut of Goldsboro; a stepson, Jimmie Hinson and wife, Cindy, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Malinda Knight and husband, Woody, and Debbie Giddens and husband, Allen Mac, all of Newton Grove, Barbara Cotton of Cary, James Chestnutt and wife, Pam, of Goldsboro, Zack Hinson and wife, Hope, of Tulsa, Okla., Alice Cordell and husband, Matt, of Cherry, N.C., and Adam Hinson and wife, Cassie, of Greenville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Brittany Parker Knoll and husband, Ben, Heather Smith Prenda and husband, Matthew, Bethany Knight, Lauren Giddens, Dustin Giddens, Nick Johnson and wife, Sara, Elijah Hinson, Jadon Hinson, Jonathan Chestnutt, Jordan Chestnutt, Olivia Cordell, Lilliegrace Hinson and Lorelai Hinson; great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Prenda, Natalie Knoll, Hayden Tanner, Emery Prenda and Madilynn Johnson; and a sister, Onie Mae Edwards of Hope Mills.
Mary was preceded in death by husband, Gordon Suggs Hinson; brothers, Stacy, Relmond and Charles Daniel; daughter-in-law, Stella Cotton; and son-in-law, Rudy Chestnutt.
