Retired Air Force Technical Sgt. Norwood Lee Lancaster Sr., 81, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, in Goldsboro.
Mr. Lancaster was born in Goldsboro, N.C., Oct. 28, 1934, to parents, Nathan and Patience Lancaster.
He married Patricia Tomaszewski Nov. 10, 1956.
He served 22 years in the military as a medical technician, and retired from O'Berry Center.
He was married 60 years to his best friend, and was a family man.
He loved fishing off the dock of their creek home, doing crossword puzzles in his favorite chair and spending time with his dog, Albert.
Norwood Lee Lancaster Sr. is survived by his wife, Patricia Lancaster; his sister, Margaret Grady; his brother, Bob Lancaster; and his children, Mary Louise Lancaster, Yvonne Francis Lancaster, Norwood Lee Lancaster Jr., Glennie Jane Key, John Stuart Lancaster and Denise Ann Miller.
He was a proud grandfather to Curtis, Jeremiah, Carrie, Jason, Cristopher, Adam, Courtney, Samantha and Tyler.
He was a great-grandfather to Haleigh and Penelope.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann, Susan, William, Luby and Ella Mae.
A viewing will be held at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, from 6 to 7:30 in the evening.
The funeral will be held at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, followed by service at the Veteran's Cemetery in Goldsboro at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
