REV. JAMES WARD JR.

Rev. James H. Ward Jr., 76, a resident of Riverpoint Crest Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, New Bern, died Saturday.
He pastored Antioch Missionary Baptist church in Goldsboro, from 1970 until 1977 and helped to start the building fund of the present structure on Elm Street.
He was born July 14, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Rev. James Henry Ward Sr. and Mary Phillips Ward. He was preceded in death by a brother, David, and a sister, Viola.
Homegoing services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Saints Tabernacle Holiness Church, 9280 N.C. Highway 11, Willard, N.C.
He is survived by two sons, David Anthony Ward of Wilmington, and Martin Demetrius Ward Sr. and wife, Kandi Midgette Ward and four grandchildren, Martin Demetrius Ward Jr., Joshua Noel Ward, Alizejah Parker and Yasmine Parker.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, from 6 until 7 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home, 601 East Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C. In lieu of flowers, cards and acknowledgments can be sent to 1005 Plymouth Drive, New Bern, N.C. 28562.
