JACQUELINE BRINSON EVANS

Jacqueline Brinson Evans, 85, Goldsboro, passed away Friday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Evans was born in Duplin County Jan. 12, 1931, to the late Hallie Thomas Brinson and Effie Mae Brown Brinson. She was married to the late William Wesley Evans Sr.
Mrs. Evans had retired from food service at Cherry Hospital.
She was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
A service celebrating her life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Lewis Forsythe officiating.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her daughters, Pamela Sue Evans and husband, Jerry, of Creswell and Brenda Darlene Gipson and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro; sons, William W. Evans Jr. and wife, Rita, of Goldsboro and Michael Evans of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Jane Jones of Mount Olive, Carolyn Sullivan of Wilmington and Marilyn Brock of Wallace.
She is also survived by a special couple, Johnny and Claudia Hollingsworth of Warsaw.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her sister, Bettie Murray; brothers, James D. Brinson and Earl Brinson; and a grandson, Tony Evans.
