ETHEL BELLE HERRING

Ethel Belle Herring, 81, 28 Coachman Circle, Stafford, Va., passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Riverside Regional Center in Newport News, Va.
Ethel was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Clayton, N.C., to the late Robert Herring and Martha Herring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Jasper E. Herring, Ray A. Herring and Phyllis D. King; two brothers, Ardell Herring and William Herring; and two sisters, Smithy L. Alsop and Carniece DeVaughn.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sandra L. Harper of Denver, Colo., and Rhonda I. Dent (Timothy) of Stafford, Va.; grandchildren, Brondon Harper, Patina Herring, Kimmerli Herring-Isler, Kehinde Harper, Jeromey Herring, Shannon Isler, Auntrell Barnes, DeMario Isler, Ashley Harper and Aunia King; great-grandchildren, Hannah Hartzell, Sierra Harper, Isaiah Harper, DeVaughn Brooks, Chayoni Isler, Alexis Mason, Lyanna Ford-Barnes, Shayla Isler, Arionna Isler, McKenna King, Sean Best Jr., Malachi Isler and Aubrielle Isler; one great-great-grandson, Wyatt Hartzell; one sister, Martha A. Herring; one brother, Robert E. Herring; beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of other relative and friends.
Ethel graduated from high school, and went on to complete a certified nurse's assistant program.
She retired from Cherry Hospital, and after retiring, she worked as a home care provider.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Monday, June 20, 2016, at noon at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommys Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with pastor Joe Jackson officiating.
Interment will be held at Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
A public viewing will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016, from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family being present to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m., at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C.
