Jane Williams Kornegay, 86, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Bethel Williams, and wife of the late Herbert Kornegay.
Mama Jane, as she was known best, was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, and dearly loved her church family.
She was retired from Sears Department Store following many years of dedicated service.
A funeral service will be held at Freedom Baptist Church Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jonathan Smith and the Rev. Ray Deck officiating. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night at the church from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mama is survived by her daughters, Gail K. Herring and husband, Randal, of LaGrange, Dianne K. Newman of Goldsboro and Sandra K. Outlaw of Goldsboro; a sister, Hettie Gales of Goldsboro; her neighbors and close friends, Joyce Newcomb and Gordon Hinson; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mama was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Buddy Newman; brother, Richard B. Williams; sister, Peggy W. Hollowell; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Williams; and brothers-in-law, Carl E. Hollowell and Kenneth Ray Gales.
