LINDA B. TAYLOR
July 11, 1944-May 12, 2016
Linda Braswell Taylor, 71, LaGrange, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Linda was born in Warsaw July 11, 1944, to the late Leland Braswell and Mattie Bostic Braswell.
Linda's husband of 46 years, James Erwin "Bill" Taylor, preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2009.
Fiercely independent and strong willed, Linda wanted to be involved and know what was going on.
Linda was blessed with a musical gift, and wrote a number of songs. She loved singing in the church choir, and also sung in several different trios and quartets.
Linda was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Her family has many fond memories of her cooking. She loved summer and cooking fresh vegetables right out of the garden. She took great pride in caring for her yard and flowers.
Linda found nothing better than her daily Dr Pepper and fish from Ken's on Fridays.
As matriarch of the family, Linda relished her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family, and will be dearly missed.
A service to celebrate and honor Linda's life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Mallie Hinnant officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Retha Jo Ginn and husband, Mike; three grandsons, Taylor Ginn and wife, Sara, Scotty Ginn and wife, Lauren, and Chad Ginn; sister, Joyce Boyette and husband, Brooks; her beloved canine companion, Toby; and many special nieces and nephews, who were a very special part of her life.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Braswell.
Linda's family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers who took care of her these past several years.
Words simply can't express our appreciation for the loving care and support provided by Stephanie Parks, Peggy Parks, Sonja Ginn, Peggy Sasser, Bunnie Wooten, Caroline Reynolds, Jill Tyndall, Marissa Williams, Vicky Stanley, Shelby Clark, Dolly Bass and the many other caregivers who were a very special part of her life.
