JOHN CURRIE HOUSTON

John Currie Houston, Jay, Okla., passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at his home. He was 34.
John was born Oct. 4, 1981, in Greenville, N.C., and lived most of his life in the Mount Olive/Goldsboro area.
He had lived in the Grand Lake, Okla., area since 2008.
He was a mechanic, and attended the Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Nathaniel King and Christian Houston; his girlfriend, Melinda Buzzer of the home; and her children, Charles Buzzer and Jonna Buzzer.
He is also survived by his parents, Jerry Houston and his wife, Connie, of Cosby, Tenn., and Karen Bennett of Mount Olive, N.C.; stepdad, Ricky Bennett of Mount Olive, N.C.; his sister, Tracy Taylor and husband, Michael Taylor, of Mount Olive, N.C.; stepsister, Tonya Ginevan and husband, Greg Ginevan, of Maryland; his grandmothers, Marlene Moody and Lou Ellen Carrell of Mount Olive, N.C.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward John Houston, Sarah Houston, Jody Moody Jr. and Randall Guy Whaley.
Memorial service will be held Monday morning, March 14, at 10 a.m. at Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church on Tram Road in Mount Olive, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family churches, Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church and/or Brock’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
