Mrs. Mary Watson Duls, 93, Edgewater, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at her home.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro St., Roseboro. A private interment will be held Monday, Feb. 29, at Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte, N.C.
She was born June 3, 1922, in Sampson County, N.C., to the late Thomas Nye Surles and Rosa Graham Surles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Moore Duls Sr., and brothers, Calvin Hoover Surles and Thomas Nye Surles Jr.
She is survived by her sons, James Moore Duls Jr. and wife, Carla, of Edgewater, Md., and Thomas Graham Duls and wife, Trisha, of Sylva, N.C.; a sister, Norma Surles King of Goldsboro, N.C.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roseboro First Baptist Church, Roseboro, N.C.; Hospice of the Chesapeake, Pasadena, Md.; or Alzheimer’s Association, Washington, D.C.
