Billy Lynwood Daughtry, 84, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.
He died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Richard Author Daughtry and Miggie Lynch Daughtry.
Billy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a retired lieutenant with Goldsboro Fire Department.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Park with Bishop Bass officiating.
Surviving are his four children, Lynn Daughtry and wife, Lisa, Luann Gwaltney and husband, Ken, Sandra Daughtry and Jeff Daughtry and wife, Patty, all of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Goldsboro Fireman Explorer Post, 204 S. Center St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Royall.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at his home, 100 Daughtry Lane, Pikeville, N.C.
