BENNIE O. CARR

Bennie Oliver Carr, 91, longtime resident of Bowdens, N.C., retired crop and dairy farmer, United States Army veteran of World War II and former employee with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, died Saturday morning, Sept. 12, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with visitation to follow. Officiating will be the Rev. Shelton Justice. Burial will be Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
He was a member of Bear Marsh Baptist Church, and his wife, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Olive, and they worshipped with both congregations for as long as health allowed.
He was preceded in death by all of his immediate family, which included his wife, Tamara Lebduska Carr, whom he married June 4, 1948; his parents, Isaac Millard Carr and Sallie Vernon Carr; and brothers, Lonnie Edward and James Norwood Carr.
