SIMON RALPH FAIL

Simon Ralph Fail, 86, Goldsboro, went to be with his Lord and savior early Wednesday morning at the University of North Carolina Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ralph was born March 9, 1929, in Johnston County to the late Simon and Lura Thompson Fail.
He was a member of Oakland Community Church, where he served as a deacon.
Ralph was the owner of Ralph Fail Grocery Store for 21 years. Later in life, Ralph was a truck driver for many years, and always enjoyed being out on the roads, but cherished the time he had at home with his family and friends.
A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Oakland Community Church, with the Rev. Phil Bowden officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Josephine Davis Fail; daughters, Pam Wyatt of Goldsboro and Trish Gillikin and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Chris Wyatt, Kelly Lancaster and husband, Justin, Cindy Jones and husband, Phillip, Jamie Cooper and husband, Ashley, and Jessica Nietschmann and husband, Adam; eight great-grandchildren and one special little one on the way; sisters, Arlene Crumpler and husband, Carlton, of Goldsboro and Ellen Weaver and husband, Jerry, of Goldsboro; and a sister-in-law Evelyn Fail.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Olin Fail and Newlin Fail, and a sister, Rachel Crawford.
The family will receive friends Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at Oakland Community Church and at other times, at his home.
