DORIS KORNEGAY HOLLAND

Mrs. Doris Kornegay Holland, 87, Mount Olive, N.C., went home to be with the Lord Aug. 28, 2015, at her home.
A memorial will be held Monday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. at Bear Marsh Baptist Church in Mount Olive, N.C., conducted by the Rev. Robert Ellis.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Kornegay and wife, Anne, of Teachey, N.C.; her daughter-in-law, Sue Kornegay of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren, Denise Norris and husband, Ken, of Charleston, S.C., Tonya Wolfe and husband, Tim, of Charleston, S.C., Angela Olson and husband, Shaun, of Pottstown, Pa., Joe W. Powell of Deep Run, N.C., and Jeremy Little and wife, Jacquelyn, of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters-in-law, Dr. Barbara Kornegay of Mount Olive, N.C., and Sarah Head and husband, Ross, of Mount Olive, N.C.; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Duplin County, N.C., to the late George Russell Kornegay Sr. and Annie Dail Kornegay.
She was also predeceased by her husbands, Everett Lee Kornegay and Gordon Holland Jr.; two sons, Wade Kornegay and Jerry Kornegay; her sister, Edna Brice; and her brother, George R. Kornegay Jr.
Doris was a member of Bear Marsh Baptist Church.
She loved reading, working on puzzles, doing word searches and sewing.
She loved her church family, and served as a church clerk and sang in the choir for many years.
