DORIS M. KASPER

Mrs. Doris Marie Millard Kasper, 85, resident of Mount Olive, passed away early Wednesday, April 15, while at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Her life will be remembered and celebrated in a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Dudley Christian Church, officiated by the Rev. Blane Smith and the Rev. Doug Dexter, followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Her family will receive friends in the Christian Life Center at the church during the hour before the service Saturday, and at other times, at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, they have asked that memorial gifts be made to Dudley Christian Church.
Mrs. Kasper is survived by her husband, James R. Kasper of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Dale Graves of Hampstead; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean G. Pate of Fremont and Robin G. and Jerry Long of Faison; six grandchildren, Jason Long, Leslie Lawhorn and husband, Edward, Dorian Barnes and husband, Jason, Amber Long, Jennifer Pate and Devin Graves and wife, Niki; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Queens, N.Y., but raised in Mount Olive, she had been employed as a hospital nurse at both Wayne Memorial and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base hospitals.
She was a member of Dudley Christian Church.
Her parents, John Robert and Carrie Kennedy Millard, and a sister, Margaret C. Sutton, preceded her in death.
