BETH K. EARNEST
April 12, 1941-April 9, 2015
CAPE CARTERET, N.C. -- Beth Riggs King Earnest, 73, formerly of Snow Hill and Kinston, went on to be with Jesus on April 9, 2015.
Born in Kinston, Lenoir County April 12, 1941, Beth grew up in Kinston until relocating to Snow Hill with her family in 1979. She remained there with her family until she relocated to Swansboro in 1996. Beth enjoyed her time in Swansboro with many friends that she made in church and her weekly community bible study group. She dearly loved her time with family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. with funeral services being held at 7 p.m. at Cape Carteret Baptist Church, Cape Carteret, N.C., where Beth has been an active member since moving to the area. Beth was active member in ABWA and other community activities when she was in Snow Hill.
After retiring and traveling the world with her first husband, Sam King, who preceded her in death in 2009, Beth continued to be active in community gospel singing, community bible study, and spending time with her family and friends. She married Dallas Ross Earnest in 2011 while remaining in Swansboro. They enjoyed traveling with the Coastal Tarheels RV group and worshiping together for her remaining years.
Beth is survived by her husband, Dallas Earnest and family of two years, two sons, Sam and children, Morgan and Hayes of Newport, N.C., and Todd and wife Crissy, and children, Parker and Ethan of Snow Hill, N.C.; and a stepson, Cecil Hardman of Richlands, N.C. and family of Kinston, N.C. Also surviving is Beth's sister's Gail Skinner (Norman) and family of Cape Carteret and Frankie Jones and family of LaGrange.
