HADDIE H. BROCK

Haddie Holmes Brock, 84, lifelong resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2015, at her home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Coy Brock officiating, and the burial will follow in Pate Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at Mrs. Brock's former home, now the home of son Doug and his wife, Sandra, at 2562 Summerlin's Crossroads Road, Mount Olive.
Mrs. Brock was a retired licensed practical nurse whose career included long-time employment with Duplin General Hospital and, in recent years, SunBridge Nursing Center in Mount Olive.
She was of the Holiness faith.
Surviving family members include her four children and their spouses, Garland Royce and Mary Brock, of Mount Olive, Janice Gail B. and Steve Bass, of Charlotte, Alva Douglas "Doug" and Sandra Brock, of Mount Olive, and Susan B. and Glenn Matthews, of Eastover; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille H. Winders of Rocky Mount; a brother, Lynn Holmes of Mount Olive; four sisters-in-law, Clara Belle Holmes and Jean Holmes Horne, both of Mount Olive, Lillie Holmes of Goldsboro and Everleene Holmes Futrell of Albertson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland "Dick" Brock; her parents, Abb and Mary Owens Holmes; sisters, Bertha H. Davis, Dorothy H. Waters and Eva H. Brock; brothers, Alva "Junior" Holmes, James "Sonny" Holmes, Durwood Holmes, Edward Earl "Baby" Holmes and little brother, Robie Jackson Holmes; and a special friend, Grady Barwick.
Plants and flowers were always a special part of Mrs. Brock's life, so they are certainly welcome to honor her memory.
Memorial gifts may also be made to the charity of one's choosing.
