Joan Crumpler Joyner , 83, of Crystal River, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Citrus Memorial Hospital.
Joan was born in Wayne County on May 4, 1931 to the late Joseph E. and Mildred May Crumpler. She was married to the late Perry D. Joyner Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Joan is survived by her sons, Perry D. Joyner III (Jay) of Crystal River, Fla. and Douglas Edward Joyner and wife, Carol, of Bakersville; brother Edward H. Crumpler of Midlothian, Va; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., Fifth Floor, Norwalk, Conn., 06851; the National Shingles Foundation, 603 West 115 Street, New York, N.Y., 10025 or to the Eastern Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, NC 27605.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
