Helen Marie Pollock Sykes, 85, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the Brian Center.
Mrs. Sykes was born in Wayne County June 24, 1929, to the late Willie Leroy Pollock and Unity Mae Hill Pollock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harvey Sykes, Sept. 9, 2001.
Mrs. Sykes was retired from Kemp Furniture, and was a former member of Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service of remembrance at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Chaplain Allen Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.
Mrs. Sykes is survived by her brother, Leonard Pollock, and several nieces and nephews she loved very dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Brian Center for the love and care provided to Mrs. Sykes these past few years, as well as the wonderful staff at Community Health and Hospice, who cared for her during her final months.
