Mr. Ronnie Lee Thompson, 63, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Ronnie," 210 E. Vine St., Goldsboro, N.C., departed his earthly life Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
Ronnie was born in Wayne County Feb. 15, 1951. He was born to Mrs. Carrie Durham Thompson and the late Mr. Jack Thompson.
He received his education in the public school system of Wayne County. He attended, and graduated from, Central High School in Goldsboro, N.C.
After graduation, Ronnie served his country by enlisting in the United States Army.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Alpha and Omega Christian Center, 1210 Clingman St., Goldsboro, N.C. Apostle Frank M. Dawson will officiate.
Burial will be held in the future at Sandhill Veteran Cemetery, Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 400 Murchison Road, Spring Lake, N.C., 28390
A public viewing will be held Friday, April 18, 2014, from 2 to 6 p.m., at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C.
Mr. Thompson leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his mother, Mrs. Carrie Thompson; his brothers, overseer Alton Thompson (pastor Mary) and Darrell Thompson (Betty); his sisters, minister Doris Nobles (Shelton) and Sharon Phillip (Paul); and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Saturday, April 19, 2014, family and friends will assemble one hour prior, at 9:50 a.m., at the residence of Mrs. Carrie Thompson, 210 E. Vine St., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, April 18, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
