SCOTT MCCOY JR.
COVE CITY -- Scott "Scotty" Woodrow McCoy, Jr., 73, of Cove City, died April 14, 2014 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
He was a member of Core Creek OFWB Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott Woodrow McCoy, Sr. and Edith Jane Henderson McCoy.
He is survived by his wife, Shearin Stroud McCoy; two daughters, Tracy McCoy Mayo (Steven Ray) of Pikeville; Amy McCoy Jones (John Mark) of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Julia McCoy Bircher (Jack) of Cove City; Melissa McCoy Barnett (Thomas) of New Bern; two grandchildren, Scotlyn Rae Mayo and Isla Catherine Jones, and his niece and nephews, Michelle B. Tripp, John Charles Bircher, III, Matthew Scott Bircher and Daniel Stephen Barnett; five great nieces and one great nephew.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Core Creek OFWB Church with the Reverends David Charles Hansley and Mike Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Heath Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any OFWB denomination ministry of one's choice or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center 107 Handley Park Ct., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
