EDWARD "EDDIE" ABRAM STRICKLAND

Edward "Eddie" Abram Strickland, 66, Ernul, N.C., passed away peacefully at home April 3, 2014.
He was the son of the late Edward Abram Strickland Sr. and Iona Brock Strickland.
He was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Goldsboro, N.C.
He graduated Goldsboro High School in 1966, and served four years in the United States Navy.
After the Navy, he joined Craven Electric Supply Co., where he became president. He retired Oct. 1, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Strickland; daughter, Tracy Strickland Lehto; stepson, Sean Oliver; sisters, Sybil Strickland Campbell and Kimberly Strickland Heath; four nieces; three nephews; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Strickland Lane, and brother, Phillip Wayne Strickland.
He was very involved in the fraternal organization of Masonry Berne lodge 724 as a 33rd degree Mason. And also the Shriners, New Bern Scottish Rite and New Bern York Rite.
He was a Christian with strong faith in the lord, and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A funeral service will be held at Temple Baptist Church, Tuesday, April 8, at 2 p.m.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., an hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's honor to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford, N.C., 27565
Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory.
