Shelby Jean Smith Brock, 73, of Slick Rock Road in the Daly community, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, April 3, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Services to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, April 5, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive and will be officiated by the Rev. Jeff Dail & the Rev. Tom Dorman. Burial will follow in the Pate Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home during the hour before the service, and at other times at the home of Debbie and Ray Holmes on Slick Rock Road.
Mrs. Brock had been previously employed at Young Squire Industries and at Mount Olive Sportswear.
She is survived by her husband, Rommie D. Brock of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Ray Holmes of Goldsboro, and Cyndi and Keith Edgerton of Pikeville; four grandchildren, Daniel Holmes and wife, Miller, Brittani Purdie and husband, Taylor, Brandon Edgerton and fiancée, Melanie Mangum, Brooke Edgerton and friend, Kyle Stuart; three great- grandchildren, Kohlton Grubb, Hayden Purdie and Layla Edgerton; a sister, Frances Kennedy of LaGrange; two brothers, Horace Smith and wife, Christy, of LaGrange, and James Smith and wife, Betty, of Princeton.
Those preceding her in death include an infant son, Robert Daniel Brock; her father, Robert Morris Smith, mother, Mable Millard Smith Ricks, stepfather, Robert Ricks, and two brothers, Robert Earl Smith and Morris Smith.
Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home.
