Tyrese Melik Best, 19, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Big L" of 709 N. Audubon Ave., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Tyrese was born in Wayne County on August 28, 1994 to Linette Edwards and Dennis Tyrone Best.
He received his education in the public school system of Wayne County. He attended Eastern Wayne High School and graduated from Wayne Community College in 2012.
Tyrese was employed with the Cooper Standard Automotive Company in Goldsboro.
He joined and became a faithful member of the St. John United Holy Church in Snow Hill, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Joyce Marie Edwards and Jennie B. Best; and two aunts, Latha Edwards and Ann Edwards.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Saint John United Holy Church, 1432 Fort Run Road, Snow Hill, with Elder Michael Artis officiating.
Interment will follow in the Anderson Family Cemetery, 4646 U.S. Hwy. 13 North, Farmville, N.C.
Also, a public viewing will be held on Friday in the Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Mr. Best leaves to cherish his loving and precious memory, his mother, Linette Edwards of the home and his father, Dennis Tyrone Best of Durham; his brother, Antonio Moore; his sister, Jerae Kinsey, both of Goldsboro; his uncle, Marco Edwards of the home; his aunt, Gathal Graham and husband, James of Raleigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at the residence of Linette Edwards, 709 North Audubon Avenue, Goldsboro. On Saturday, the family and friends will assemble at 11:30 a.m. at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C. beginning on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
