John Franklin "J.F." Colie, 66, Faro Road, Fremont, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 14, 2014, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont, followed by a graveside service at Eureka Cemetery.
J.F. was born in Greene County April 4, 1947, to the late Sherman and Lola Carter Colie.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Bradshaw and Joyce Southard.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Colie and wife, Shannon, of Texas; a daughter, Sharon Colie of Texas; stepson, Chris Ham; stepdaughter, Jennifer Howell and husband, Brandon, of Eureka; a brother, Tom Colie and wife, Betty, of Kinston; a sister, Mary Colie Wooten and husband, Thomas, of East Bend, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Kyle and Abigail Colie of Texas; brother-in-law, Sonny Southard of East Bend; special nieces, Judy Bradshaw, Jan Norwood; nephew, Brooks Bradshaw; and other relatives and friends.
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont, N.C.
