GEORGE E. 'TOMMY' BEAMON
March 3, 1937-March 7, 2014
Mr. George Edward "Tommy" Beamon, 77, LaGrange, died Friday evening, March 7, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Greene County, he was born March 3, 1937, the son of John Edward Beamon and Clyde Suggs Beamon.
A heating and air technician by trade, Mr. Beamon loved working with Central Heating and Air in Kinston.
He was an avid golfer and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Beamon was a member of Garris Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Garris Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Committal services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Snow Hill Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Harper Beamon.
His surviving family includes his daughters, Wendy Beamon Whitfield and husband, Ricky, of LaGrange and Robin Beamon Lee and husband, Kendall, of Deep Run; sons, T.C. Beamon and wife, Katherine, of Kinston and John Beamon and wife, Patti, of LaGrange; grandchildren, Dana Sutton and husband, Ron, of LaGrange, Brandy Edwards and husband, Thomas, of Grifton, Courtney Lee and Blake Lee both of Deep Run, Andrew Beamon and Zander Beamon both of Kinston, Andrew Manning of Jacksonville and Benjamin Manning of Emerald Isle; great-grandchildren, Evan Sutton, Ella Sutton and Sawyer Edwards; sisters, Nora Mae Pridgen and Clara Pridgen both of Snow Hill, Etheleen Jones of Maury, Janie Ginn of Wilson and Eleanor Carraway of Ayden; and brothers, Donald Beaman of Snow Hill and William A. "Pete" Beamon of Maury.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service Monday evening, and other times, at the residence.
