THURSTON COOPER EDMONDSON JR.

Thurston Cooper Edmondson, Jr., 71, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Cooper was born in Wayne County Dec. 2, 1941, to the late Thurston Cooper Edmondson Sr. and Sue Cox Edmondson.
He retired from Coats American Inc. after 40 years of service.
Cooper was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.
A service celebrating the life of Cooper will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Adamsville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dean Hightower officiating. Interment will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Cooper is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gail Garris Edmondson; sons, Thurston Cooper "Ty" Edmondson III and wife, Kimberly, of Goldsboro, Scott McKinley Edmondson and wife, Anne, of Charlotte and Kris Garris Edmondson and wife, Katy, of Tampa, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren, Becca, Cooper, Cairns, Mance, Eli, Elizabeth, Scott, McKinley, Virginia, Jake, Samuel and Margaret.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and also Friday following the service at Adamsville Baptist Church.
