SHARON DIANE STALLINGS

Sharon Diane Stallings, 57, Goldsboro, N.C., went to be with her Lord and savior Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013.
Visitation will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro, N.C., with the funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m.
Sharon was born in Pikeville, N.C., April 9, 1956, to the late Benjamin and Marie Pitt.
She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in Pikeville in 1974, and married the love of her life, Larry Donnell Stallings, in March of the following year.
She was a devoted mother to her four beautiful children, spending many of their early years as a stay-at-home mom and dedicating her life to the building of God's kingdom.
It was Sharon's steadfast faith that sustained her during her long bout with end-stage renal failure. Friends and family who would come to encourage Sharon during her sickness would themselves leave uplifted and inspired.
She was a humble servant, always striving to bring joy to others and to offer a helping hand or encouraging word to someone in need. Her infectious smile, witty sense of humor and knack for storytelling could bring you to tears in laughter. Sharon will be missed by all who were graced by her presence.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years; three sons, Javondell Risotto (Sheila) Stallings of Whitsett, N.C., Larry Stallings of Kingsport, Tenn., and Robert Takelo (Shonte) Stallings of Fayetteville, N.C.; a daughter, Willona Marie Stallings of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren; two goddaughters; two brothers; four sisters; and a host of other family and friends.
