WHITE LAKE -- Carolyn Creech Alphin, 69, Columbia, S.C., passed away Sunday at her vacation home in White Lake.
She was the daughter of the late Norwood "Jack" McCoy and Alice Mozingo Creech, and was the widow of the late David Ray Alphin.
She was a retired front end manager for Winn-Dixie of Kinston, and was the owner and operator of Carolyn's Plants in Columbia, S.C.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. W. Jim Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Alphin is survived by a sister, Diane Spence and husband, Roger; three brothers, Kenneth Creech and wife, Brenda, of Gaston, S.C., Jacky Creech and wife, Debbie, of Cayce, S.C., and Randy Creech and wife, Jackie, of Pelion, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
