PIKEVILLE -- Mollie Phillips Baker, 72, Gurley Dairy Road, Pikeville, died Saturday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 22, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Ransom and Annie Bell Parnell Phillips.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Ransom Baker.
Mrs. Baker's funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the chapel of Casey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The committal service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Joe "Tony" Wayne Baker; her children, Ronnie Wayne Baker and wife, Kay, of Pikeville, Mary Ellen Baker Paterson and husband, Tony, of Kenly, Gloria Baker and James Lane of Fremont, Teresa Baker Willoughby and husband, Ken, of Rosewood, Rose Marie Baker Thomas of Raleigh and Douglas "Sambo" Gary Baker and wife, Pamela, of Goldsboro; brothers and sisters-in-law. Bobby Ray Phillips and Norma Jean of Princeton, Dock Randy Phillips and Peggy of Pikeville and Jimmy Earl Phillips and Kathy of Princeton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie Gray Luper of Kenly, Patricia Ann Hinnant and William Logan Jr. of Princeton, Shirley Kaye Toler and Roger of Princeton, Barbara Faye Corbett of Princeton and Becky Marie Heath and Danny of Princeton; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening and immediately following the funeral service.
