SMITHFIELD -- Johnny Vine Woodard, 54, died Sunday morning, Aug. 4, 2013, in Wilson Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born Aug. 7, 1958, in Johnston County, he was the son of Melvin R. Woodard and the late Lenora Mozingo Woodard.
Johnny was a general contractor, and a member of Cardinal Country Club.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Princeton Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Lisa Devereaux-Woodard; daughters, Sarah Woodard Pearce and husband, Matthew, of Kenly and Jenna Woodard Alexander and husband, Zack, of Clayton; father, Melvin R. Woodard and wife, Bobbie, of Princeton; stepsons, Joshua Devereaux and wife, Jennifer, and Justin Devereaux all of Smithfield; brothers, Rudy Woodard of Boston, Mass., and Ernie Woodard and wife, Sonya, of Princeton; sister, Angela Hare and husband, Emmitt, of Smithfield; four grandchildren, Jackson Stephenson, Andrew Vine Stephenson, Chloe Alexander and Anastasia Devereaux; niece, Mary Hare of LaGrange; and nephews, Zachary Woodard and Tanner Woodard both of Princeton.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
