KENNETH EARL STRICKLAND

PIKEVILLE -- Kenneth Earl Strickland, 69, also known as "Strick-Daddy," passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
Kenneth was born Feb. 17, 1944, to the late Edgar V. Strickland and Julia Alligood Strickland.
He was employed with Cobb Chevrolet for 20 years, and worked at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base for more than 37 years, where he received different awards.
He was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Pikeville.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Earlene Rendleman Strickland; son, Thomas Rendleman of Stantonsburg; daughter, Karen Strickland Stroud of Goldsboro; special daughter, Joyce Boush Rendleman; sisters, Lizzy Mae Pace and husband, Jim, of Goldsboro, Bettylu Smith and husband, Henry, of Tennessee and Gladys Williams of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Aaron, Lauren and Jake Grady, Samantha Stroud, Devin Boush, Taylor Hutson and Jessica Rendleman; very special friends, Ernestine Brown-Curry, Frank Jackson, Willie Young and Rudy Peedin; and loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Peedin Strickland, and brothers, T.J. Strickland and Edgar V. Strickland Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Relay for Life and March of Dimes.
