HERMAN HOKE PHILLIPS

Herman Hoke Phillips, 91, passed away April 26, 2013.
Mr. Phillips was born in Warsaw, N.C., March 11, 1922, to the late Abner and Minnie Alberta Boyette Phillips.
He and his wife, Harriet Rebecca Wells Phillips of Teachey, were married Dec. 30, 1948, until she passed away March 9, 1991.
Their children are Rebecca P. Matamoros (Ronald) of Bermuda Run, Marshall Herman Phillips of Warsaw, Alan Hoke Phillips (Reecia) of Warsaw and Catharine P. Weston (Jerry) of Richlands; and their grandchildren are Joseph Matamoros (Mariana), Benjamin Weston, Chadwick Phillips, Rebecca Weston and Madison Phillips.
Herman and Harriet also had a son, Joseph Delaney, who passed away in infancy in 1953.
Herman was predeceased by his brothers, Graham Albert Sr., Hubert Everette, Norwood Abner, William Clayton, Harry Lee Sr. and John Thomas Sr.
Herman grew up as a member of Johnson Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was a farmer businessman.
Visitation will be at Johnson Baptist Church Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral at 3 p.m. Burial at Pinecrest Cemetery will follow the service.
A reception at the church will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services are provided by Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
