FREEMAN BEASLEY CRUMPLER

Freeman Beasley Crumpler, 84, went home to be with his Lord and savior Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Suttons Retirement Center.
Freeman was born in Emporia, Va., Jan. 18, 1929, to the late John R. Crumpler and Faye Beasley Crumpler, and was the widower of Elizabeth "Lib" Crumpler.
He was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, and served his country in the United States Army, where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
A service to celebrate Freeman's life will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Bailey and the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Freeman is survived by his daughter, Kim Wells of Pikeville; son, Ricky Crumpler and wife, Jenny, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Elizabeth Nichole Wells, Ken Dwayne Crumpler, Charles "Chuck" Crumpler, Heather Marie Monroe and Matthew Trent Crumpler; and great-grandchildren, Clay Downes, Taylor Downes and Morgan Crumpler.

The family will receive friends following the service Tuesday evening at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Kim Wells, 2732 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
