PATSY LANCASTER BASS

Monday morning, Feb. 11, 2013, with her family by her side, Patsy Lancaster Bass received her heavenly healing from a courageous battle with cancer.
Homegoing services to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at 7 p.m. at United In Christ Church.
The family will receive friends following the service.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery.
Mrs. Bass was born in Wayne County Sept. 15, 1941, to the late Dewey and Elizabeth Gardner Lancaster.
She was a charter member of United In Christ Church, where she served on the Benevolence Committee.
Mrs. Bass was retired from the state of North Carolina at O'Berry Center with 16 years of service, and was employed with Britthaven (Principle Long Term Care) of Kinston with 27 years of service.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 55 years, Hugh Bass; two daughters, Susan Bass of Goldsboro and Kay Sasser and husband, Mike, of Patetown; a son, Jamie Long and wife, Amber, of Saulston; a granddaughter, Brittany Sasser of Patetown; a brother, Oliver Lancaster of Eureka; three sisters, Carolyn Pate of Goldsboro, Mary Sasser and husband, Joe, of Pikeville and Linda Hinkson and husband, James, of Florida; a special pet, Chichi; and a host of other relatives, special friends and her church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Lancaster, and her sister, Rose Webber.
Services are entrusted to Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
