PIKEVILLE--Joyce Strickland Flowers, 77, of Pikeville-Princeton Road passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Mrs. Flowers was born in Duplin County on April 24, 1935 to the late Henry (H.D.) and Lola Cox Strickland. She was a lifelong member of White Oak Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, John L. Flowers; son, Johnnie Flowers of Faro; two daughters, Olivia Flowers of Fremont and Dail Tyndall of Pikeville; one sister, Dollie Flowers of Pikeville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
