EUNICE M. MCELROY

Mother Eunice M. McElroy, 84, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Eun-Eun," 116 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, departed her earthly life Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Harmony Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kinston.
Eunice was born in Jones County, Trenton, May 22, 1928, to the late Phillip Gooding and Leadie Berry Gooding.
She received her early education in the public schools in Jones County.
Mother McElroy was a member of Pentecostal United Holy Church, where she served on the church mother's board.
She was employed with the Wayne Action Group for Economic Solvency Inc. (WAGES) in Goldsboro.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Pentecostal United Holy Church, 600 E. Pine St., Goldsboro. Pastor Willie E. Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow in Willowdale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm St., Goldsboro.
A public viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Mother McElroy leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories four daughters, Patricia Lowery and husband, Derrick, of Raleigh and Rosa Speight, evangelist Barbara Worrell and husband, Earl, and pastor Thelma Davis all of Goldsboro; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Gooding and Edna Britt both of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will assemble at the residence, 116 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, one hour prior to the funeral at 10 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
