TOWSON, Md. -- Mrs. Ethel C. Best, 88, Towson, Md., formerly of Wayne County, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012.
A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Eureka, with evangelist Retha Hooper as eulogist. Interment will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road, Goldsboro.
Viewing will take place Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Family and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. Alex Adams, 305 S. Baker St., Eureka, one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Best is survived by two daughters, Thelma McNeal of Philadelphia, Pa., and Maxine (Falas) Mobley of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, Alex Adams of Eureka and Gary (Dana) Whits of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ella Coley and Dorothy Locus both of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
