MANLEY EUGENE TART

Manley Eugene Tart passed away peacefully and went to be with his savior July 9, 2012, surrounded by his family.
Gene was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend.
He was born Nov. 25, 1950, to the late Leo and Nellie Thompson Tart.
Gene was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Melvin Rains.
Gene was an active member of Hephzibah Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, chairman of the deacon board and Sunday school teacher. He also shared his love for Christ through his service to the youth and RAs of the church and to the youth of Johnston Baptist Association which he led for approximately 18 years.
He was also a member of Community Gospel Singers. He loved singing for the Lord as they shared the gospel message through song and worship.
Gene retired as an electronic engineer from Eaton Corp. after 35 years of service.
Gene had a big heart and loved everyone he came in contact with. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, at 2 p.m. at Hephzibah Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery
Gene is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Rains Tart; sister, Sandy Tart Beasley and husband, Ray; sisters-in-law, Nancy Rains and Bettie Mae and husband, Dan McCloud; brothers-in-law, Curtis Rains and wife, Rachel, and William Earl Rains and wife, Rose; 10 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton
