Arthur Keith Strickland, 60, of Mount Olive, died Friday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Dr. George Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
He was born in Clinton to Dorothy S. Stone and the late Veron Allen Stone, and was the husband of beloved Beth Strickland. Mr. Strickland served in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Strickland is survived by two sons, Matthew Slater Sr. of Vermont and Keith Strickland Jr. of Mount Olive; a daughter, Susie Jackson of Vermont; a step-daughter, April Reiber of Dudley; three sisters, Ida Hope of Mount Olive, Pat Berry of Washington, and Margaret Sledge of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; and two special friends, Earl Watts and Carol Alvarado.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216. Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216.
